Alcoholic Fermented coffee by Iveth

Iveth's son Adrián, is fascinated and very interested in special processed coffees. That's why he has prepared some alcoholic fermented coffee for us. When making alcoholic fermented coffee, green beans are left to ferment in water with yeast and sugar added to it. The water will start to become alcoholic a bit like the process of making wine. This gives the coffee new taste notes of dried fruits. Adrián has produced a very special coffee for us and I am very confident, that you'll like it! In total I have

The coffee itself is not alcoholic!

Because the fermentation entails more work and more time for the Muñoz family, they are compensated with around 2€ more per kilo.

Iveth Muñoz - Exclusively Available At Patrice.Coffee

On my travels to Colombia, I've not only met the Argote family (who export the coffee from Colombia) but also the Muñoz family, including Iveth and her son Adrián!

Situated a bit outside of the village Génova is where Iveth and Adrián live and grow coffee on their farm which is about 1 hectare in size and consists of around 3.500 coffee trees. Iveth has been a widow for 20 years, but during harvest season, she can count on the helping hands of her three sons. Adrián is very interested and enthusiastic to try new processes like for example the alcoholic fermentation which you will be able to try for yourself as soon as the new harvest arrives! :) Iveth is exporting her coffee with Argote for 7 years now and, in this time she's even won an award for best coffee.

From the extra money earned through the direct exportation with Argote, she's been able to build drying beds as well as rebuild a part of her house.

On top of growing coffee, Iveth also runs a small shop (tienda in Spanish) where she sells everyday items her neighbors might need.

And now I am super excited to tell you, that Iveth Muñoz's coffee, is exclusively available through Patrice.Coffee! I've agreed to hence forward buy all of her harvest every year.

Thank you to Iveth and her family for the amazing coffee!
