5 years ago I started my coffee roastery. Back then I had 4 different coffees and between those 4, was this coffee from the Ajere group in Uganda! For those of you, who have been around since then, you might remember this coffee and for the rest of you I am super excited for you to taste this wonderful coffee! This is what I had to say about this coffee back in 2019:
Uganda isn't very known for (or not yet) really good coffee! But this coffee left me speechless, it's one of the best coffees I have ever tried.
With taste notes of cacao powder, hazelnut, blueberry and nougat the coffee is very well balanced with a nice sweetness.
Last year, we as a community, helped the coffee producers in Génova, Colombia to finance a workshop about organic farming. Because I found that to be a very fulfilling end of the year project, I am doing it again this year.
For every kilo of coffee sold, I donate 2€ to eight.world who, in cooperation with my importer This Side Up, run a project for a basic income for coffee producers in Uganda. This poroject gives the producers some room to breathe and and the possibility to build new income streams for themselves and their families.
In December you'll learn more about this awesome project! So stay tuned!
